Duo-Sonata Performance Masterclass for Pianists – English

Introduction

After participating, organizing and coaching in several masterclass programs I have come to deeply appreciate the relevance for string players of having a good accompaniment pianist to deveope knowledge of pieces and building up performance repertoire. It is a privilege for the “melodic” instrument students to have a professional more experiences musician (pianist) performing with them and guiding them.

But what about the pianists themselves? In my opinion they also deserve the opportunity to learn by performing with professional “accompaniment musicians” and being chaperoned in their journey of becoming a professional themselves.

In this course we would like to offer the same experience we “melodic” instrumentalists have to the piano students and for once exchange roles: putting proudly ourselves, experienced string players, at the service of piano students for them to learn and expand their knowledge in the Duo- Sonata repertoire.
